Shanghai, November 20, (Gasgoo.com)-Shanghai General Motors opened its third parts center in in Guangzhou yesterday. The new parts centre will enhance the company’s delivery service of auto parts and accessories to more than 140 dealers in China’s eastern and central regions, the company announced.

The Guangzhou center, which costs 15 million Yuan ($20,156,143) and employs only 36 workers, is to constitute a quick-responding and wide-covering service network together with existing Shanghai center and Yantai center, the company said.

"The Guangzhou center will provide more efficient and convenient services to customers in the southern China region,” said Ding Lei, Shanghai GM general manager at the opening ceremony. Before the new center, Shanghai GM had to rely on Shanghai parts center to cover China’s eastern and southern regions, which causes delays in delivery.

"The new center, which will cut short delivery distance, could provide delivery services 3 times or 4 times faster than before," Ding added.

Shanghai GM, the joint venture between SAIC and General Motors now has an after-sales service and warehouse network covering 603 garages throughout China. The center has also been making efforts to minimize the environmental impact of the depot's construction by taking strict energy conservation measures.
