Honda tops million sales in 2015 in China, a regional record high

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Jan 5) - Honda’s locally produced vehicles sales reached an all-time high in China in 2015, exceeding a million units, of which 600,000 units were earned by GAC Honda and the rest by Dongfeng Honda.

The automaker maintained fast growth of over 30% in 2015 from a year earlier, followed by other Japanese automobile manufactures advancing in two-digit rate in China, while overall Chinese car sales in the first eleven months last year grew slightly 3.34% from that of the previous year.

Seizing the growing popularity of SUV model in the country, Honda launched a classical SUV model, CR-V, leading the niche market with big sales, followed by two new models Vezel and CR-V, contributing more than 110,000 unit’s sales for the enterprise per year.

In the past three years, engines in all its production portfolio have been upgraded, with which come hand in hand new high-end technologies like Continuously Variable Transmission, Dual Clutch Transmission of eight speed degree, Honda SENSING and Honda CONNECT.
