Lincoln vehicle sales reach 12,000 in China in 2015
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Jan 14) - Lincoln, ranking eighth in American luxury car sales following the first three of BMW, Lexus and Mercedes Benz, sold 11,630 units in China in 2015.
Its overall sales worldwide were 101,000 units last year, less than half of 1990 when the brand topped other American luxury car brands with a record sales of 230,000 units. As the flagship models of Ford, Lincoln initialed a new flagship model named Continental in the North American Auto show held recently. Continental was to be offered in the third quarter of the year in oversea market, which might be introduced to China by year end.
In this case, Continental would help complete its portfolio in China. It was a sales year for the brand in China last year when MKC and MKZ made most contribution to the sales concerning model kind and SUV accounted for 75% of the overall sales concerning market segment.
