Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Jan 22th)– A Cadillac CT6 flagship has rolled off manufacturing line in SAIC GM’s Jinqiao Cadillac plant in Pudong District this 21st.

The construction of this exclusive Cadillac plant began in June 19th, 2013 and completed in June 19th, 2016, with a designed area of 750,000 square meters. The new plant is designed to include body workshop, paint workshop, assemble workshop, matching supporting facilities, test track and experience center, and could produce 160,000 units per year.

To be noted, the body workshop, equipped with 2 full-automatic production lines and up to 386 robots, is the first in China to be able to produce all-aluminum car bodies.

The very first model that this new plant churns out is Cadillac CT6 while the production lines here are able to produce 7 different models. This plant is also expected to produce even more models in the future.

As far as we know, the hybrid Cadillac CT6 will be produced exclusively in China and may be exported to USA.
