China’s Qoros to Reset Price System, Qoros 3 Down 26k RMB

(Gasgoo Shanghai Feb 25th) — China’s Qoros announced on Monday that it would lower the price of its products including Qoros3 car, Qoros 3 five-seat car and Qoros 3 urban SUV.

Although products of Qoros focus on quality, the high price has become the handicap for it to improve sales. In addition, lowering price of other products aims to lay a foundation for bringing Qoros 5 SUV to the market.

According to data from Qoros, its sales in 2015 reached 14,000 units, increasing by 170% compared with that in 2014. And it sets a goal to achieve sales of 30,000 units to 50,000 units and a rise of 170% to 200% in 2016.

In March, Qoros will bring Qoros 5 SUV to the market in hope of reaping larger slice of market share. The monthly sales of this model should at least stand at 3,000 units.

Based on the pricing strategy, the pre-sale price at 150,000 to 200,000 yuan will make Qoros 5 SUV enter the price range of 140,000 yuan, which will inevitably overlap with the price of Qoros 3 SUV at 139,900 yuan. To distinguish the positioning of these two models, Qoros lowers the prices of others.

The price range of Qoros 3 car from 108,800 yuan to 177,900 yuan will be lowered to range from 100,900 yuan to 151,900 yuan; the price range of Qoros 3 five-seat vehicle from 108,800 yuan to 171,900 yuan will be lowered to range from 103,900 yuan to 153,900 yuan; and the price range of Qoros 3 urban SUV from 139,900 yuan to 179,900 yuan will be lowered to range from 127,900 yuan to 169,900 yuan.
