GWM achieves 40% of the annual sales target by May, and five new models will be launched
Gasgoo.com (Shanghai June 14th)– Benefited from the rapid growth of SUV market, GWM exceeded its annual sales target in 2015. The 2016 target is set at 950,000 units, and 384,600 units have been sold from January to May, occupying 40% of the yearly target. In the next, another five new models will be launched to further promote the sales volume.
Data shows that GWM sells 71,636 units in May, increasing 9.54% with the same period of last year, in which SUV vehicles are 61,793 units, increasing 12.82%, pickups are 8,123 units and increase 6.11%, and cars are 1,720 units. Haval 6 are sold 37,435 units in May, increasing 24.65%. Haval 2 are sold 12,476 units, increasing 12.66%. Haval 7, the new model, are sold 3,175 units in May, increasing 146.12% with April.
According to plan, GWM will launch new H6 and H2, equipped with 1.3T TSI, in the latter half of this year. Besides, the first alternative energy vehicle model, C30EV and H1 Coupe, a mass-production model based on “Haval Concept B”, will also be launched soon. The SUV champion, H6, may have an upgraded model at the end of this year.
It’s learned that GWM’s first BEV model, C30EV, based on C30, will be launched at the latter half of this year, with two versions targeting at taxi market and personal market respectively. The supply of key parts such as batteries, motors, and gearboxes will be cooperated with LG, Siemens, Schaeffler and other global suppliers.
