BAIC Aims to Be TOP 3 Automakers in China

Gasgoo (Shanghai, August 17th)—BAIC, one of leading automakers in China, has launched one million units of vehicles until August 16 since acquisition of the technology platform of SAAB in 2009.

Annual sales of BAIC were 24,000 units in 2011; sales were 78,000 units in 2012; sales were 200,200 units in 2013; sales were 310,000 units in 2014; sales were 337,000 units in 2015; and sales are expected to be 420,000 units in 2016.

After listed in 2014, BAIC has been ranked NO.160 among Top 500 companies in the world in 2016.

Look back on 2015, BAIC made a strategy, aiming to be the first three leading automakers in China in 2020.

Improvement of two major brands, Senova and Weiwang, may serve to increase sales of BAIC. Sales of Chinese brands of BAIC have been 232,000 units, with a yearly rise of 42.7%, surpassing the average growth rate of 11.1%, in the first seven months in 2016. And sales of Senova were more than 100,000 units with a yearly rise of 94.6%.

Moreover, there has been much development in products including SUVs and green vehicles. In 2015, sales of green vehicles were 20, 000 units. And sales have been 19,000 units with a yearly rise of 158% until July in 2016.
