As Nissan opposed Dongfeng Renault project is shelfed

According to the "Beijing news", that Dongfeng-Renault project has been indefinitely shelfed; the project is unlikely to be initialized within three years. The earlier negotiations of the Dongfeng Renault sites issue are therefore suspended.

From the negotiations to the first China made Renault Meganes, Dongfeng-Renault has developed rapidly. However, a source from Dongfeng Automobile told reporters last week that the joint venture project of Dongfeng-Renault car has been put aside, Nissan is the main reason, Nissan does not want to see Renault Nissan double-brand in China.

Nissan and Dongfeng Group, cooperated all round in passenger cars in 2003, Dongfeng Nissan sales reached more than 200,000 unites in 2006.

Renault and Nissan Office in China haven't responded clearly.
