China recalls 580,000 vehicles year-to-date

Shanghai. December 4 (Gasgoo.com) China has recalled 580,000 vehicles which involve 25 car models made by 18 automakers by year-to-date, Shanghai Securities News reported today.
 
The latest recall was made by Honda China last week. The company announced to recall Acura RL sedans (07 Acura RL made between December 2005 and April 2007 and 08 Acura RL made in October 2007) starting on December 17. A total number of 115 Acura RL vehicles will be recalled, the company said.
 
Since the automobile recall system was established in October 2004, China has recalled 1.3 million automobiles Shanghai Securities News reported today. 107 vehicle models made by 45 automakers were involved in the 1.3 million recalled vehicles over the past three years, the report said.
 
Last year, a total number of 340,000 vehicles were called and the total number was 60,000 in 2005 and 320,000 in 2004
 
To facilitate vehicle recall services, a web site (www.qiche365.org.cn/) dedicated to vehicle recalls was opened in China.
