Skoda Fabia to hit Chinese market by the second half next year

Shanghai. December 4 (Gasgoo.com) Skoda Fabia will be introduced to Chinese market by the second half of 2008, said a senior official from the Skoda arm of Shanghai Volkswagen.
 
"We have obtained the authorization from the automaker to import Skoda vehicles, said Fu Qiang, deputy manager of the Skoda arm of Shanghai Volkswagen. The preparatory work for the arrival of Skoda Fabia is still under way.
 
Fu also indicated that Fabias local production plan will proceed at the same time as its importation plan.
 
Chen Yu, general manager of Skodas franchised store in Beijing said that Fabia will come to Chinese market no later than August and that other Skoda vehicles including an Octavia RS model and a SUV model will come to Chinese market along with Fabia, Beijng Business today reported.
 
Currently Skoda Fabias sister product Octavia are produced at Shanghai Volkswagen. In October, Shanghai Volkswagen sold 4,322 Octavia vehicles in Chinese market.
