Shanghai. December 7 (Gasgoo.com) – Chinese homegrown automaker Chery Auto has exported a total of 114,728 vehicles in the first 11 months this year, an increase of 164.7 percent from one year earlier, state-run local newspaper Anhui Daily reported today.
Three models, A5, Oriental Son and Tiggo account for 50 percent of the total export volume; on the other hand, vehicle exports in the form of CKD (completely knocked down) units accounts for 80 percent of total exports this year, while the percentage was 20 percent last year.
Chery vehicles are exported mainly to emerging markets such as Russia, the Middle East and Latin America, where its low prices are helping to win customers. The company is also building a car-shipping port on the Yangtze to facilitate vehicles exports.
Chery, China's most successful homegrown automaker, which sold 307,200 vehicles worldwide last year, is ranked 27th among global automakers.
