Shanghai. December 18 (Gasgoo.com) - China's Hafei Automobile Industry Group Co has exported 18,000 vehicles to Syria year-to-date, and the number is likely to top 20,000 units by year end, a Harbin-based local Chinese newspaper reported today.

Hafei Automobile started to export vehicles to Syria in 2003. By the end of this year, the automaker has sold an aggregate amount of 45,000 vehicles in Syria, becoming the country’s largest foreign auto seller, the newspaper said.

Hafei Automobile exports vehicles to more than 40 countries and regions in Africa, Asia, Europe and America, according to the report.

PSA Peugeot Citroen and Hafei Group signed a memorandum of understanding in July that the two parties will create a 50-50 joint venture to manufacture and sell vans with ten seats or less in Shenzhen, but further negotiations has progressed slowly since then.
