Shanghai. December 21 (Gasgoo.com) - Japanese automaker Honda Motor Co. said Wednesday the company plans to sell 185,000 Accord vehicles next year, a target that will allow Honda to take back its No. 1 position in mid-high segment from Toyota.
"Honda will able to sell 420,000 vehicles by this year end, up 27 percent year on year," Honda President Takeo Fukui told reporters at a news conference in Tokyo. “We expected to sell 490,000 vehicles in Chinese market next year.”
Fukui added that he expects to take back the No.1 position in the middle-high segment of Chinese car market by selling 180,000 new Accord vehicles next year.
To achieve this goal, Guangzhou Honda plans to sell 15,000 Accord vehicles in Chinese market, a target quite similar to Toyota Camry’s current sales record.
Toyota Camry has remained best selling model in middle and high-end segment of Chinese sedan market over the past eleven months.
