Shanghai. November 28 (Gasgoo.com) – FAW Haima Automobile Co plans to sell 180,000 vehicles next year, an increase of 40,000 units from this year’s 140,000 units.

FAW-Haima will launch new own brand sedans in the B and A0 segments as well as a MPV in next two or three year after 2008, a company official said at a media conference recently.

"FAW Haima has begun to develop these models since 2006 and these models will be launched consecutively after the end of 2008," said Tan Jimin, vice-president of Haima's marketing operation.

In addition to new car models, FAW-Haima is also investing heavily developing new engines. The automaker plans to develop and produce HA-VIS-1.8 Liter engines by the end of next year, a new engine that will fully comply with EU-IV emission standards.  "We will put our new engines into use at an appropriate time,” Tan said.

FAW-Haim currently has an annual output capacity of 150,000 vehicles. As its output is constrained by its capacity, the company is considering building a third plant which will boost the company’s total capacity to 400,000 vehicles.

In the first 11 months of the year, FAW-Haima sold more than 110,000 vehicles and company expected to sell at least 130,000 vehicles this year, up 60 percent from one year earlier.
