Guangzhou Honda to offer standard-setting warranty for new Accord

Shanghai. January 7 (Gasgoo.com) - Guangzhou Honda announced yesterday that it will offer a tthree-year/100K kilometer powertrain warranty for the upcoming 08’ Accord. The company also announced a 7% discount on after-sales spare parts.

Guangzhou Honda, a tie-up between Japan's Honda Motor Co and Guangzhou Automobile Corp, held a ceremony for the official launch of the new Accord. The company expects to sell 178,000 new Accord sedans this year, a sales target that will overtake its closest competitor Toyota Camry which plans to sell 175,000 vehicles in 2008.

Guangzhou Honda's new warranty offering for 08’ Accord has set a new standard for the mid-and-high segment of China's sedan market, according to local media Information Times, which says "the after-sales service of new Accord is unprecedented".

Currently, most of sedan makers in this segment offer a two-year/60K kilometer warranty and very few would offer a three-year/80K kilometer warranty. Only a few imported luxury sedans have a warranty coverage of 100K kilometers.
