Shanghai. January 10 (Gasgoo.com) - The new 2008 LX 570 full-size luxury utility vehicle is going on sale today at China's southern city of Shenzhen. The vehicle will be priced at 1.3 million yuan ($179,000), about $100,000 more expensive than in North American market.

The model will be equipped with a larger 5.7 liter V-8, engine. The LX 470, which is powered by a 4.7-liter V-8 engine, halted production by late 2007. The name change of vehicles from Lexus LX 470 to LX 570 reflects the change of engines that power them. The new LX 570 has 381 horsepower in contrast LX 470’s 268 horsepower. It's equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission.

In North America, Lexus LX 570 is priced $73,800. This is nearly $18,000 higher than a Cadillac Escalade and $3,000 lower than that of Mercedes-Benz's GL550.

Lexus LX 570 was first displayed at the 2007 New York International Auto Show last year. The all-new third-generation LX will feature more technological advancements, greater driving power, more luxury, safety features and more roominess than LX 470.
