Shanghai, January 10, (Gasgoo.com)--Dongfeng Nissan, the joint venture between Nisan Motor and Dongfeng Motor Group of China, sold 271,915 vehicles in 2007, up 3.6% from one year earlier, but the company failed to meet its 2007 sales target of 300,000 vehicles.

"We aimed to sell 340,000 Nissan vehicles for the year 2008," said Ren Yong, deputy general manager of Dongfeng Nissan, "I have confidence to fulfill the task."

The company will launch a series of new car models this year, including the revamped Teana and a new SUV model Qashqai, Ren said.

In 2008, Nissan will also expand its dealership network to 340, and the automaker's financing unit established by Nissan and Dongfeng will be put into operation this year.

China has now become Nissan's third largest overseas market, following North America and Europe.
