Guangzhou Honda to become the fourth car manufacturers with output more than one million in China

According to sources from Beijing Office of Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co., the millionth car Guangzhou Honda produced went off the production line in Guangzhou factory on 10th February. Hence Guangzhou Honda became the fourth car manufacturers with an output more than one million vehicles, following Shanghai Volkswagen, FAW Volkswagen and Shanghai General Motors. Since the first Guangzhou Honda Accord went into production on March 26th, 1999, Guangzhou Honda's annual output increased from 10,000 vehicles in 1999 to 260,000 vehicles in 2006.

In 2003, Guangzhou Honda stopped the production of popular Accord 98 models, and at the same time introduced brand new Accord 03 globally. New Accord prices made the overall price level downward. Following Accord, Guangzhou Honda introduced multipurpose Odyssey, FIT, hatchback FIT and City, these brands are brand-new models and represent the latest technology of Honda in the global market. At present, there are more than 30 automobile manufacturers in China, of which annual sales of 9 manufacturers reached more than 200,000 vehicles.
