Shanghai Volkswagen, Skoda brands sales target 20,000 units for 2007. Recently, Shanghai Volkswagen had just launched a Skoda model based on the Octavia car.

According to the recently released annual report of Skoda Motor, its sales grew by 11.7% in 2006, reached 549,600 units. Skoda brand in 2007 will reach 580,000 units, and Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda will be included in production plans.

Shanghai Volkswagen's long-term strategy targets one million vehicles including the mass production of Volkswagen and Skoda by 2015, occupying a large share of car market in China. The output of Shanghai Volkswagen Skoda brand is no less than 100,000 units in 2009 and is striving to occupy a 10% global share. The models introduced into China will include OCTAVIA, FABIA and SUPERB.
