Shanghai. February 14 (Gasgoo.com) China exported 612,700 vehicles to the overseas market in 2007, up 78.95 percent from the previous year, according to the statistics released by China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM).
CAAM statistics show that commercial vehicles account for 54.4 percent of China's total export last year, while passenger vehicles take 30 percent. The total value of these vehicle exports rise 45.31 percent to $40.896 billion. Russia, Iran and Kazakhstan are China's three biggest destination countries for vehicle exports.
Asia, East Europe and Africa remain the major overseas markets for Chinese vehicles, which make up around 90 percent of China total vehicle export.
"Three factors may impact China vehicle export," said Stephen W. Dyer, an automobile industry expert from A.T.Kearney (China). "The appreciation of RMB, soaring raw material prices, such as oil and metals and inflation in China may have negative impacts on China’s automobile exports this year."
