Shanghai. February 18 (Gasgoo.com) - Geely Automobile has halted the production of its Merirenbao sport car and may introduce a new 2.0 L sport car, Cheshi.com. reported.

Geely displayed a new sport car called Zhongguolong (Chinese Dragon in Chinese) at Shanghai auto show last year which is widely considered to be a replacement for the Merirenbao auto transmission sport car.

The automaker sold only 1,561 Merirenbao units last year, with no more than 200 units being sold per month. Currently only Merirenbao manual transmission 1.5 L is available on the market.

Geely announced earlier last month that it will add five new models a year, including sedans before 2010 and will also raise its annual production capacity in China to 1.7 million vehicles by 2015.
