U.S. to impose 24.75% anti-dumpling duty on Chinese off-road tires

Shanghai. February 25 (Gasgoo.com) – The United States Commerce Department is planning to impose an average of 24.75 percent anti-dumpling duty on China-made off-road or off-highway tires, Shanghai Securities News reported last week.

 

The U.S. Commerce Department preliminarily determined that Chinese producers/exporters have sold new pneumatic off-the-road tires in the United States at 10.98 to 210.48 percent less than fair value, according to a press release on the web of U.S. Consulate in Hong Kong.

 

The merchandise covered by these investigations includes new pneumatic off-the-road tires designed for off-the-road and off-highway use. The subject merchandise can be of tube-type or tubeless, radial or non-radial forms, according to the press release.

 

The U.S. Commerce Department has decided to impose an anti dumpling duty of 10.98% to 51.81 percent on four Chinese off-road tire makers, including GUI ZHOU TYRE CO. The Commerce Department has also decided to impose an average of 24.75 percent anti dumpling duty on 23 other Chinese off-road tire makers, including AEOLUS TYRE CO. and DOUBLE COIN HOLDINGS, Shanghai Securities News said.

 

"Price distortion by Chinese exporters puts American manufacturers at an unfair disadvantage," said Assistant Secretary for Import Administration David Spooner. "In an effort to encourage a healthy economic environment and to strive to maintain a strong and fair relationship with our trading partners, the Administration will continue its commitment to aggressively enforce America's trade remedy laws."

 

The petitioners for this investigation are: Titan Tire Corporation (Titan) (IA), and the United Steel, Paper and Forestry, Rubber, Manufacturing, Energy, Allied Industrial and Service Workers International Union, AFL-CIOCLC (USW) (PA).
