Chinese engine maker Yuchai hit record sales in 2007

Shanghai. February 28 (Gasgoo.com) - China Yuchai Machinery Company, the leading manufacturer and distributor of diesel engines in China, announced recently it sold 500,000 diesel engines and realized sales revenue of 18 billion yuan ($2.51 billion) in 2007, remaining China’s largest engine marker for seven consecutive years, Guangzhou Daily reported yesterday.

 

In the past year, Yuchai has developed the 6J, 6L/CR and 6L/UP diesel engines that can meet strict China IV emission standard (equivalent to Euro IV), making Yuchai the only Chinese company to offer China IV engine models in batches.

 

Another Yuchai's YC6L-50 China V standard (equivalent to Euro V standard) Electrically Control diesel engine is Yuchai's self-developed low emission new model with 240-330 horse power and low fuel consumption, which also further reduces NOX emission by nearly 50% compared with Euro IV.

 

The YC6M and YC6L diesel engines for heavy-duty vehicles developed by Yuchai and European engine designers not only meet Euro V standards, but are also compact in size, which make them an ideal choice for luxury buses and metro buses.

 

In terms of export, a total of 29,000 diesel engines were exported, up 263 percent from a year earlier. It is worth noting that 3400 units YC4108 engine were exported to Vietnam, a 260 percent growth from a year earlier. This represents a market share of 90 percent of the local 5-ton heavy truck market segment.

 

Yuchai primarily manufactures and sells diesel engines for medium-duty trucks in China. It also produces diesel power generators, which are primarily used in the construction and mining industries. With over 30 regional sales offices and 460 authorized customer service centers, Yuchai distributes its diesel engines directly to auto OEMs and retailers and provides maintenance and retrofitting services throughout China.
