Bridgestone opens tire proving ground in China

Shanghai. March 18. (Gasgoo.com) - Bridgestone Corporation recently announced the official opening of its Bridgestone (China) Tire Assessment & Development Co., Ltd in Yixing, Jiangsu province.

 

This is the Bridgestone's first proving ground in China. It was originally built in September 2005. Covering roughly 84 hectares, the new proving ground boasts a 900m straight track for high-speed performance tests and a curved track for handling and stability tests.

 

By establishing the facility in China, Bridgestone can test tires for original equipment and replacement specifically for the Chinese market, while enhancing the speed and efficiency of development assessment and performance verification there. The facility will also be used for local sales promotion activities and training exercises for people both inside and outside the company.

 

This will be Bridgestone's eleventh proving ground worldwide. The auto parts maker also has two proving grounds in the USA, Italia and Japan respectively, with the other located in Brazil, Mexico, Thailand and Indonesia.
