Asaite becomes Nissan’s second tier suppliers

Shanghai. March 20 (Gasgoo.com) – China’s automotive parts supplier, Asaite has become Nissan Motor’s tier 2 supplier by supplying pulleys to Muhrund Bender KG, the U.S.-based Automotive News reported today.
 
The Fujian-based Asaite will supply 670,000 pulleys to Muhrund Bender KG and is likely to increase the supply by at least 30% next year, Xu Chuangguo, deputy general manager of Asaite told Automotive News.
 
These pulleys will be shipped to Japan and equip on Nissan vehicle engines, Xu said. Meanwhile, Asaite is also planning to exports pulleys and other automotive products to the United States. In the U.S. market, Asaite’s product prices amount to only two thirds of the local average.
 
Asaite will soon become a supplier to General Motors, Xu told Automotive News. “Samples products have been sent out to G.M. and they will conduct the last screening in May this year.”
 
ASAITE is located in Longyan city, one of the transportation centers in Fujian Province. The distance to the nearest seaport is less then 100KM. 
 
ASAITE occupies an area of 60.000 sq meters. In the first phase project, 60 million RMB has been invested, 9000 sq meters of standard workshop as well as 2200 sq meters of office area have been built. By the end of 2007, the production capacity will reach 5 million parts per year.
