Shanghai, March 31, 2008 (Gasgoo.com) China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Co., Ltd. (Sinotruck) said recently that Sinotruck manufactured and sold 17,900 heavy-duty trucks in the first two months of this year, an increase of 42.28% over 2007, holding 22.45% of the domestic market to lead China’s heavy truck manufacturing. The making and selling of the vehicle maker's heavy trucks in March is expected to hit 15,000 units, which will create a new high in the country's monthly heavy truck sales volume.

Since the restructuring of the group in 2001, Sinotruck, China's third-largest heavy-truck manufacturer, has invested heavily in technical innovation and global expansion. Over the past seven years, Sinotruck has kept a momentum of rapid growth, and its marketing volume has exponentially increased by 26 times to make the company a leader in China's heavy truck sector. In terms of the sales volume, Sinotruck became the world's fifth largest heavy truck maker in 2007. With its exponential growth, Sinotruck has also created huge profits -- in 2007, Sinotruck attained a sales figure of RMB 37.1 billion ($5.2 billion), paying RMB 2.8 billion in taxes.

In 2008, Sinotruck expects to manufacture and sell 125,000-135,000 heavy trucks, 20,000-25,000 of which will be export-oriented. If this goal is reached this year, Sinotruck will achieve its current five-year plan two years ahead of schedule.
