FAW to debut B131 at 2008 Beijing Auto Show

Shanghai, April 11 (Gasgoo.com)  China's FAW Group released some design pictures of a new midsize sedan codenamed B131, which is to be debuted among a battery of new products at the upcoming 2008 Beijing Auto Show.

The B131 appears to be about the size of the Accord and Camry. FAW already markets a midrange sedan, built on the Mazda 6 chassis, called the Besturn, according to an Edmunds report.

FAW will release more details on the B-segment car at the Beijing show. In the meantime, company officials have announced plans to invest $300 million in a new production facility to build the B131 in 2009.

Earlier report shows that FAW will launch another Model X, which is an A-segment model based on Bora. The Model X, however, will be a three-box sedan priced between RMB 100,000 ($14,280) and RMB 130,000, lower than Bora in the present market.
