Mini Clubman makes its debut in Shanghai

THE new Mini Cooper Clubman made its debut in Shanghai at the weekend as the popular model made its foray into the Chinese market to meet diversified market demand.

The new Mini Cooper Clubman Fun will cost 329,500 yuan (US$47,071) while the Mini Cooper Clubman Excitement will be sold at 369,500 yuan, according to Shanghai Fande Automotives Sales Co Ltd, a Mini dealer in Shanghai.

The Mini Clubman is 24 centimeters longer than the previous model with its wheelbase extended by eight centimeters. The model has five doors, a split tail gate and a storage capacity of 930 liters.

Last year, sales of Minis doubled for a second straight year to 2,200 units in the Chinese mainland. The dealer network for Mini will also expanded to 35 by the end of this year, up from the 25 last year.
