VW to recall 77 defective Passat sedans
Shanghai, April 15 (Gasgoo.com) Starting the coming Sunday, VW automobile will recall 77 four-wheel drive Passat B5 sedans due to the fire risk from its fuel tank assembly.
According to China's state administration of quality supervision, from April 20, 2008 VW will recall 77 four-wheel drive Passat B5 sedans that were manufactured between November,2000 and May, 2005.
VW said that there was a fault with the fuel tank, which may leak fuel and cause fire. VW will examine the fuel tanks of the recalled cars and replace the fuel tanks if necessary.
VW will ask its Passat B5 users by telephone or letter to receive free inspection and service in VW dealers' stores.
