2009 Acura RL makes its China debut at Beijing auto show
Shanghai, April 24 (Gasgoo.com) The all-new 2009 Acura RL has made its China debut at the ongoing 2008 Beijing auto show. Its powerful new engine, intelligent all-wheel-drive system, innovative architecture and state-of-the-art electronic technology push the bounds of performance, style, and luxury, and make it a new classic model of sports luxury sedans. The 2009 Acura RL will go on sale in China later this year.
The 2009 Acura RL gets an all-new 3.7-liter V-6 engine generating 300 HP and 271 lb-ft of torque that's combined with a new version of the Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission. In addition, the RL's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system has been revised for 2009 Acural RL for quicker responding and better performing.
The 2009 RL features cutting-edge technology with the addition of new high-tech items including AcuraLink weather, AcuraLink Traffic Rerouting, a new Note function for XM Radio, Active Sound Control, and Bluetooth Audio to an already robust list of features found on the previous RL.
New chassis technology abounds in the SH-AWD, a revised steering system, upgraded coil springs, better performing shock absorbers, larger rear stabilizer bar, and more aggressive wheels and tires. The new engine incorporates the first ever SOHC use of VTEC valve-train actuation for both the intake and exhaust valves, and thus improves the car’s performance.
The 2008 Acura lineup features five distinctive models including the RL luxury sedan, the TL luxury sedan, the TSX sports sedan, the turbocharged RDX luxury crossover SUV, and the MDX luxury sport utility vehicle. The 2009 Acura RL made its world premiere in February at the 2008 Chicago Auto Show.
