China's own brands glittering at the Beijing auto show

Shanghai, April 24 (Gasgoo.com) The following are some of the Chinese automakers' own-brand car models that have debuted at the ongoing 2008 Beijing auto show:

Guangzhou Auto's hard-top sports concept car

1. Guangzhou Auto's hard-top sports concept car
Guangzhou Automobile debuted its all-new Cabrio-Coupé hard-top convertible sports concept car and AHEV model. It will be mass-produced in 2010.

2. Beijing 700R

The Beijing Automotive Industry Holding Co., Ltd debuted six own-brand models carrying the "Beijing" logo at the 2008 Beijing international auto show. Of the six own-brand models on display, three are ordinary and luxury "Beijing" concept cars: "Beijing 800", "Beijing 700" and "Beijing 700R", and two are new SUV and one Hybrid Electric Vehicle (HEV). The concept cars on display this time are just the initial fruits of the R&D efforts by Beijing Auto and then the company will boost its R&D capability and production capacity on the basis of collecting lots of suggestions.

3. Red Flag SUV
Although a variety of new vehicle models are debuted by FAW, the time-honored Red Flag SUV concept car still holds the spotlight at the show. It has become the most expected top SUV model among own-brand vehicles.

Geely GT

4. Geely GT
Geely GT was the most glittering star on the Geely platform after it was made public at the Beijing auto show. This 4.9-meter-long model looks as if it has mixed many design elements of international top sports cars. Different from many ordinary vehicle models, Geely GT boasts a streamlined, elegant and dynamic vehicle body. But this model is not expected to be mass-produced at present, as the Geely GT's classic design can cater to people of several generations.

Li Nian concept

5. Li Nian concept
Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co unveiled the first concept model of its own brand, Li Nian that will start production by 2010.
The Li Nian concept was designed entirely by Guangzhou Honda Automobile Research & Development, and Guangzhou Honda will take the initiative and sell the new brand vehicles through their existing dealership network.

Chery Eastar-6

6. Chery Eastar-6
Chery Eastar-6, is a high-end, high-quality Chery vehicle created by integrating the latest eastern and western car-making features. Up to now, Chery has made only one Eastar model available on the market, but this model's sales have not been ideal, even after the company added a crossover into the Eastar series to boost the market.
