All-new Mazda 6 unveiled at Beijing auto show

Shanghai, April 25 (Gasgoo.com) The all-new Mazda 6 made its China debut at the Beijing auto show this month and will be locally made for the Chinese market later this year along with its predecessor. The new Mazda 6 will be priced above 200,000 yuan ($28,600).

Three gas / electric engine versions will be on offer in the range from 88 kW/120 hp to 125 kW/170 hp. It may also feature the fuel conversion device (such as an internal combustion engine), energy storage system, and motor as its hybrid power plant.

The new Mazda 6, built on the Ford Mondeo platform, has larger front disc and anti-lock brakes with double wishbones in front. Other additions are adaptive lighting, parking sensors and active head restraints.

The new model range offers more space, performance and other improvements with fuel consumption down by up to 11% because of weight loss. The new Mazda 6 has been designated as one of the courtesy cars for the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
