Chery A3 sedan to go on sale by Sept

Shanghai, April 29 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Automobile Co plans to launch its A3 sedan and hatchback before the end of this year, according to company officials.

Chery's new Pininfarina-designed A3 sedan, together with the hatchback and hybrid version, has drawn plenty of attention at the barely concluded Beijing Auto Show.

"We initially plan to launch the model at the beginning this year, but we postpone the timeline to test its performance and improve its quality, and thus to give it a better starting point," told Jin Yibo, the director of Chery's administrative office.

Another Chery official unveiled that Chery A3 sedan will go on sale by September with the hatchback following before the end of this year.
 
To avoid repetition with Audi A3 in overseas markets, Chery says the A3 nomenclature is merely an internal code name and says the lineup will get a more traditional name by the time it reaches production.

The A3 is the third model in Chery's A series (after A1 and A5) and reportedly carry a dealer's price from 70,000 yuan ($9,997) to 110,000 yuan.
