FAW-VW to deliver New Bora in Q3 this year

Shanghai, May 4 (Gasgoo.com) The FAW-Volkswagen joint venture unveiled its new Model X car at the 2008 Beijing auto show (April 20-28). Named New Bora, this new model will be put into the market in the third quarter of this year. The New Bora is powered by a choice of two engines: one is 1.6L, and the other is 2.0L. This model will target the market between Jetta and Sagitar.

Xu Jianyi, general manager of FAW, said that the New Bora is designed for Chinese consumers on the basis of VW's mature production. Both German and Chinese design elements merge in this all-new compact car. Visually, the New Bora takes on Chinese cultural features like the lion dance in its prominent visual alliance of headlamps and the front mask. The design of the rear is also impressive.

With a length of 4,540mm, a width of 1,775mm and a height of 1,467mm, the New Bora is roomier than the old one. Corresponding to mainstream design of current compact car, the New Bora features impressive leather seats, wooden decoration, a DVD navigation system, and a parking radar in its interior and configuration.
