Shanghai Maple Auto to launch four all-new cars in 2008

Shanghai, May 4 (Gasgoo.com) Shanghai Maple Automobile (SMA) will launch its four all-new cars this year to meet the growing market demands. These new products, along with SMA's attentive services and improving sales network, will help the company reach its goal to sell 50,000 cars in 2008, which will be a vintage year in terms of the company's product launch and sales.

In June, SMA will release the 1.3L Haishang hybrid-power sedan. This 1.5L and 1.8L version of Haishang has been sold for three years, but the sales figures of economy vehicles in the recent three years show that 1.3L vehicles have become the first choice of consumers in the tier-2, tier-3 markets and suburban areas. The launch of the 1.3L Haishang cars is sure to have a huge potential market in the future.

Immediately after the 1.3L Haishang's release, the new Haiyue hatchback will be put into the market in July as well. Also intended for the economy vehicle market, this model will be priced between 40,000 yuan ($5,730) and 60,000 yuan. It will have two versions, relatively powered by a 1.3L engine and a 1.5L engine. The new Haiyue hatchback, much roomier, more fashionable and featured with many elements appealing to the young people, will lead the future market of the SMA hatchback portfolio.

In the last quarter of this year, SMA will launch an all-new 1.8L sedan, with the entirely remolded chassis, interior and exterior. The fourth model to be released in 2008 will be the classical TX4 commercial car, which will have many SUVs, MPVs and sedans as its spinoffs after this model rolls off the production line by the end of this year. 

Shanghai Maple Auto is a luxury automobile manufacturer based in Shanghai, China. It is a subsidiary of Geely Automobile and the Geely Group. The first Maple vehicle was produced in the summer of 2003. Many of its vehicles have been displayed at national and global auto shows by Geely.
