Lexus stays No. 1 imported luxury brand in Q1

Shanghai, May 6 (Gasgoo.com) Sales of imported luxury cars in China grew 82% year on year (y/y) in the first quarter, while Lexus continues to be the top seller in this market segment, China Trading Center for Automobile Import (CTCAI) unveiled recently.

Lexus keeps its sales crown with 9,679 units sold in the first quarter, followed by Benz, BMW, Audi, VW, Porsche and Volvo.

Showing the biggest increase was Porsche, with sales increasing 247% year on year; BMW and Audi also doubled their sales in the same quarter.

China's import of vehicles increased by 72% to 33,000 units in the first quarter this year, far ahead of a 21.42% growth rate of domestic made vehicles.
