Bosch injects 85 mln euros to boost capacity in China

Shanghai, May 6 (Gasgoo.com) The Bosch Group, the world's leading supplier of auto parts, has approved of a further investment of approximately 85 million euros from 2008 to 2010 to increase the company's capacity and R&D facilities in China, China business reports today.

The investment will include joint establishment of new facilities with Mahle Group to produce turbochargers, construction of a car proving ground, and expansion of ABS and ESP operations in China.

"Bosch's revenue in China surged by 41% to 18.3 billion yuan (1.7 billion euros) last year, " said Rudolf Colm, member of the Board of Management responsible for the Asia Pacific region. "We hope to boost our capacity further in this market."

He said that Bosch will increase its sales in the Asia-Pacific region to 25 percent of its global sales by 2015, by which time its will also triple its sales revenue in the region. In the near term, the company plans to invest 1.4 billion euros in the Asia-Pacific to accomplish that goal.
