2009 Acura RL to sell in China for 700,000 yuan

Shanghai, May 14 (Gasgoo.com) The all-new 2009 Acura RL will go on sale in mainland China at the end of this year after it hits in North America this summer. A Beijing-based dealership of Acura said that the all-new Acura RL powered by a larger 3.7L V6 engine will sell for at least 700,000 yuan in the Chinese market. 

The 09 Acura RL made its China debut at the recent 2008 Beijing auto show. As the luxury vehicle brand of Japanese automaker Honda Motor, Acura primarily competes with Lexus, Infiniti and Cadillac among others as a certified luxury vehicle. It has been sold and used in China since mid-2006 in three models: Acura RL, Acura TL, and the Acura MDX SUV.

The redesigned 2009 Acura RL gets a more powerful 3.7L V-6 engine generating 300 HP and 271 lb-ft of torque that's combined with a new version of the Sequential SportShift 5-speed automatic transmission. The new engine incorporates the first ever SOHC use of VTEC valve-train actuation for both the intake and exhaust valves, and thus improves the car's performance. The energy efficiency 09 Acura RL meets the Euro IV emissions standard.

The 2009 RL features new high-tech items including AcuraLink weather, AcuraLink Traffic Rerouting, a new Note function for XM Radio, Active Sound Control, and Bluetooth Audio to an already robust list of features found on the previous RL. In addition, the RL's Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) system has been revised for 2009 Acural RL for quicker responding and better performing.

With the Acura brand, Honda is credited with being the first to tap into a market for luxury Japanese cars outside Japan. Before Acura, automobiles exported from Japan were primarily economical in design and largely targeted at low-cost consumers.
