Mercedes-Benz recalls 1,483 S-Class sedans in China
Shanghai, May 15 (Gasgoo.com) Mercedes-Benz China announced yesterday to recall 1,483 potentially faulty S-Class W/V221 sedans manufactured during October and November 2007.
In a filing with the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the automaker said because of overwhelmingly exposure to moisture, the improperly manufactured Signal Acquisition and Actuation Module (SAM) inside the engine compartment may become invalid and which could in turn cause malfunction of the headlamp, corner lamps and the wiper.
The automaker said that it would repair the SAM for free. Consumers with their vehicles affected will be notified from 19 May. To date, no injuries or accidents due to the defect have been reported except for five complaints, it said.
