Shanghai, May 26 (Gasgoo.com) Chrysler Group (China) Sales Limited is to recall 192 imported Dodge Avenger vehicles in Chinese market to correct a tire pressure monitoring systems (TPMS) problem as of today, Xinhua reports today.

In a filing to the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine, the automaker said unused electrical connectors for the monitoring system could become corroded and short circuit, leading to problems starting the engine, a dead battery, an inoperative cruise control or engine stalling.

The affected vehicles were built between March 7, 2006 and January 24, 2008. No injuries due to the defect have been reported and the company pledged to perform the repairs at no cost to the consumer.

Meanwhile, Chrysler is recalling 2007-2008 Sebring and Avenger vehicles in North America and European markets because of similar defect. The worldwide recall started in mid-April.
