Zhengzhou plant of Haima Auto targets minicar market

Shanghai, May 28 (Gasgoo.com) Haima Automobile, a joint venutre of automakers FAW and Mazda, established its Zhengzhou manufacturing facility in 2007 through merging Zhengzhou Light Vehicle Co., expanding its production capacity and developing new products.

The Zhengzhou plant has brought three all-new minicar models to the 2008 Beijing auto show, which saw Haima Automobile step into a new stage in independent research and development (R&D). Ou Yongfu, vice director of Zhengzhou plant's sales department, was quoted as saying that the Zhengzhou plant will expand its production line with minicars to start with, while the Haikou plant mainly manufactures mid-sized sedans. Products of the Haikou facility are fashionable, dynamic and refined, while Zhengzhou products are economic and of high quality, he added.
 
Ou Yongfu said low-emission cars are Haima's future priority products and low-emission engines will be produced. Three engines showcased at the 2008 Beijing auto show feature low-emission, low fuel consumption and low noise as well as high performance, light weight and high reliability. By adopting the VVT technology, the engines meet the Euro IV emission standard and have the potential to meet Europe V standard.

The Zhengzhou plant of Haima has started its second platform to develop low-emission cars.
