Prices of Chery lineup are slashed after mark-up
Shanghai, May 29 (Gasgoo.com) According to an auto sales company in Beijing, the prices of Chery lineup have gone down, with Chery A5 posting the largest drop, after the carmaker’s mark-up of the prices of some models. Now the 1.8L A5 is priced at 74,800 yuan ($10,762), falling by 9000 yuan.
The price of 1.8L Chery Eastar now has dropped by 7,000 yuan. The selling prices of Comfort Eastar and Premium Eastar are at 84,800 yuan and 94,800 yuan respectively. Tiggo now sells between 83,888 yuan and 114,800 yuan, a drop of 5,000 yuan. But the 2.0L Tiggo is not available at present. The prices of Chery Eastar and Tiggo cars have fluctuated in the past few months.
According to a dealer, Chery A5 sees the largest drop of price. 1.8L A5 is priced at 74,800 yuan, falling by 9,000 yuan. 1.6L A5, with its price decreasing by 5,000 yuan, sells between 64,800 yuan and 74,800 yuan. Besides, A1 and 1.1L AMT QQ have their prices reduced by 2,000 yuan each. Currently only the Comfort A1 is available with a selling price at 51800 yuan.
At present the Amulet lineup is only available in the 1.3L comfort and standard versions as well as 1.6L comfort and premium versions. The price of Amulet has fallen below 50,000 yuan. Now the 1.3L standard Amulet is sold for 47,800 yuan, with 4,000 yuan off. Riich 2, a new model going on sale not long before, sells for 50,300 yuan to 58,200 yuan, down by 3,500 yuan.
On its corporate website, Chery Auto had previously marked up the prices of its QQ, Eastar, Tiggo and other Chery small-car models by 2,000 yuan ($287) to 3,000 yuan to face the soaring raw material costs and the upgrade of emission standards.
