Brilliance Auto aims to build a national premium car

Shanghai, June 4 (Gasgoo.com) Brilliance Auto aims to build a national premium car after launching FRV. According to the Chinese automaker, a national premium car should have following three features:

First, it is for the high-end market. China is looking to sell 1,000,000 vehicles this year. If low-class vehicles flood into such a big market by own-brand cars, it cannot boost our home-made cars’ image. Therefore, Brilliance Auto is dedicated to building mid- and high-end vehicles.

Second, it should be a car of high quality. Brilliance’s every own-brand car has combined the efforts of both international professionals and the design department of Brilliance Auto. Quality control is important as well. Brilliance Auto develops its own-brand products strictly according to BMW’s production requirements and has invited three foreign experts to take the quality management.

Third, the premium car should have an excellent price-performance ratio, in order to have more market share and get good sales, said Qi Yumin, director of Brilliance Auto.

As for the concern about the second plant’s location and the production models of BMW Brilliance Automotive, Qi Yumin said the company is still in talks with BMW AG. BMW Brilliance will expand the production in the second half of this year but the expansion has nothing to do with the second plant, he confirmed.
