Jiangling Motors sells 8,891 vehicles in May
Jiangling Motors Corp Ltd, one of the largest commercial vehicle enterprises in China, sold 8,891 complete vehicles in May, according to the company's statement to the Shenzhen Stock Exchange last week.
Sales from its main businesses, the production of Ford Transit-series commercial vehicles, light trucks and pickups amounted to 2,543 units, 3,936 units and 2,156 units, respectively.
During the same period, it produced a total of 6,967 vehicles, including 2,429 light trucks, 1,730 pickups and 2,693 Ford Transit commercial vehicles.
Jiangling Motors, in which the U.S. auto giant Ford Motor Co holds a 30% stake, sold 42,769 vehicles and produced 41,786 vehicles in the first five months of 2008. Its complete vehicle sales climbed 12% from a year earlier to hit 95,059 units in 2007.
