Auto sales, output in China fall for 2nd straight month
Shanghai, June 10 (Gasgoo.com) Auto sales and production in China have experienced monthly drops for two consecutive months, statistics from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed.
China sold 835,500 vehicles in May, with an output of 854,100 units, down 9.44 percent and 12.96 percent respectively over April. But the sales volume represents 17.04 percent growth over the same month last year.
Sales of passenger cars, SUV, and MUV in May totaled 564,600 units, down 6.66 percent over April but up 16 percent over the same month last year. Output of passenger vehicles in May was 591,400 units, down 10.2 percent month on month.
In April, vehicle production declined by 5.44 percent from March to 981,300 units, of which passenger car sales and production dropped by 13.65 percent and 7.91 percent each.
