China heavy-duty vehicle output up 47.7% in Jan-May

China National Heavy Duty Truck Group Corp Ltd (CNHTC), the nation’s leading production base of the heavy-duty truck, announced it produced 63,526 heavy-duty vehicles in Jan-May period, up 47.4% year-on-year, said Ma Chunji chairman of CNHTC.

The heavy car maker sold 60,594 heavy-duty vehicles for the first five months, representing an increase of 41% from a year earlier and bringing in record sales income of RMB 22.6 billion, up 59.3% year on year. Both its output and sales volume exceeded 15,000 vehicles in March, April and May respectively. The group realized half of its annual output and sales target one month in advance.

CNHTC has set the goal of producing and selling 12,000 heavy-duty vehicles in June, which will boost the output and sales volume for the first six months to 75,000 units, 60% of the target set for the whole year.

Headquartered in Jinan, East China's Shandong province, CNHTC is the partner of the international automotive manufacturer, Volvo Trucks. It has 30 subsidiaries that are involved in the manufacture of heavy vehicles and auto parts.
