Chery to launch Qiyun 1.5L model in early July

Shanghai, June 13 (Gasgoo.com) Chery Auto is set to put the all-new Chery Qiyun (also named Cowin, Chery A15, Flagcloud, or Amulet) model on sale in early July this year. The 4-door liftback will be first equipped with Chery's self-developed ACTECO 1.5L engine, which is fuel-efficient and low-emission.

The all-new 1.5L Qiyun will carry the Chery ACTECO 1.5L 16-valve engine which generates maximum power of 80 kilowatts, the maximum torque 140 N m, up 10.5 compression ratio. The ACTECO1.5L engine, independently developed by Chery Auto, meets China's national IV emission standards and will be one of the main engines to in Chery's future auto lineup. The strong power, energy-efficiency and low-emission of 1.5L Qiyun will give customers excellent driving comfort.

Chery Auto launched China's first self-developed car Chery Qiyun in March 2001. Chery exported its first batch of Qiyun cars to Syria in 2001 and now has made car sales deals with auto companies from more than 50 countries. The Qiyun, or Flagcloud, is now exported to more than 30 countries in Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Eastern Europe. Chery has plans to export the vehicle to the U.S. by 2010.

As one of the earliest products Chery has ever launched, Qiyun has passed VCA's vehicle collision test in May 2007, which not only testifies that Qiyun model has met with Europe safety standard, but also shows the world the top-notch performance of Chery lineup models. The Qiyun model has got ISO/TS16949 International Quality Approval early in 2002.
