Shanghai, June 16 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfeng Motor officially launched Nissan's new Teana model in the Chinese market this afternoon. The model goes on sale with three engine options including the 2.0L, 2.5L and 3.5L.

The 2008 Teana carries a selling price ranging from 190,800 yuan ($27,645) to 332,800 yuan ($48,219) based on different specifications, according to the automaker.

The new model is equipped with VQ25HR and VQ35HR engines mounted with the gearless CVT (continuously variable transmission). Its European sales will start in early 2009.

Currently Teana sedans are made and sold in China by a 50-50 joint venture between Dongfeng Motor Group Co and Nissan Motor Co. Last year, the joint venture automaker produced and sold 37,803 Teana vehicles, a big decrease from the 45,629 units in 2006.
