Shanghai, June 16 (Gasgoo.com) Guyana National Hardware Ltd announced at a press conference in Georgetown, Guyana that it will start soon to import vehicles built by China's Jianghuai Automobile Co., a report from the official website of China's Ministry of Commerce said last Friday.

The single row or double row Jianghuai pickups are priced at pretax 1,900,000 Guyana dollars ($9500) in the Guyana market; SUVs and heavy-duty trucks are priced at pretax 2,600,000 Guyana dollars.

This is the first time ever that Guyana has imported vehicles from Chinese automakers. Samuel Hinds, prime minister of Guyana, highly praised the event. He said Chinese vehicles are much anticipated in the Guyana market and he hopes more vehicles suited to the rural road conditions of the country can be imported in future.
