FAW Besturn sales to hit 50,000 units this year

Shanghai, June 19 (Gasgoo.com) China's First Auto Works (FAW) aims to sell 50,000 Besturn cars this year, Yu Yang, vice marketing director of FAW Besturn, told the reporters.

According to Yu, at least 100,000 Besturn cars will be sold next year as Besturn is on its way to hit a 250,000 sales target by 2010.

More Besturn brand cars will be launched in the coming two years to accomplish the sales target, he said, adding that Besturn sales in the first five months of this year have exceeded its full-year level of 2007.

The Besturn B50, an independent model of FAW, is to go on sale this year. Built on the same platform as Mazda 6, the Besturn B50 model is powered by a 2.0L or a 1.6L engine, which goes with the six-speed automatic-manual transmission or six-speed manual transmission respectively.
